Ring Tones Don’t Have to be Expensive

Nowadays, nobody seems to be satisfied to just use one of the ten or so ring tones that every cell phone manufacturer includes as a part of their phones. And really, why would anybody be satisfied with things like frogs in a swamp (which makes some people’s skin crawl) or tones that almost sound as if someone were doing some truly cruel experiments on a toaster. And we all know how horrible it is to practice cruelty to innocent toasters. The ring tones that most phones come with are pretty much guaranteed to be lame, no matter what brand or model you happen to have.

But you also have to wonder about paying for a ring tone. If you go out and spend $5 for a song that’s popular right now, you are going to have a little bit of soul searching ahead of you. For one thing, the idea of having a song be such a big (though subtle) part of your life means that it really should reflect you, instead of just being a manifestation of what’s popular right today. After all, musical tastes in society are fickle by nature, and today’s big song is tomorrow’s song that nobody would listen to for free.

So maybe you do not want to pay for a ring tone. Getting a Free ringtone can be a great way to have a tone that sounds good, says something you want it to say about you, and gets the obvious chore done (letting you know you have a call). Unless you want to have your phone on vibrate for the rest of your life, or end up shelling out every couple of months for a whole new ring tone, getting it for free might just be the best possible option for you. It’ll still be a tough choice which one to get, though.
